SKIN & SKY

About Skin & Sky

Skin & Sky is a natural skincare brand born in Monterrey in 2019, out of an idea that's simple to say and hard to pull off: that a clean product can also deliver real results. Its founder, Norma Cortez, had spent years using high-end brands and kept noticing the same thing  formulas loaded with ingredients that didn't need to be there, sometimes ingredients that ended up hurting the skin, and on the other side, natural brands that did nothing at all. Skin & Sky lives in the space almost no one occupies, clean and effective at once, and that's the first decision that sets it apart.

The thing about this brand is that it works backwards from how much of the category moves. Instead of chasing trends or producing for volume, it formulates in small batches, uses cold pressing when an ingredient calls for it, and puts every formula through stability and quality-control testing before it ever reaches skin. The raw materials are chosen slowly  which ingredient, how it combines with the rest, what scent it will carry, what it's meant to do for the skin  and none of it gets rushed to move more product. It's a way of working that costs time and money, but it's exactly where the difference lives.

Then there's how it feels to use. Every formula carries its own scent, made to smell like something in balance, and the texture shifts on the skin the moment it goes on. The brand treats it as a ritual rather than one more step in a routine, a bit of self-care you notice the first time, with skin looking more luminous almost right away. That line about skin glowing from within is literal in Skin & Sky's language: not a makeup glow, but the glow of skin that recognizes what you're giving it.

That same care runs through the whole line  cleansers, mists, serums, moisturizers, eye care, face and body oils, exfoliants and masques  but there are pieces where the brand recognizes itself. The Rose & Hyaluronic Radiant Mist, the Drops of Joy Serum, the Unlimited Moisturizer, the Eternal Facial Oil and the In Love Facial Wash are the ones people come back for. The names aren't accidental: many came out of meditation, along with the benefits and the affirmations that go with each product, and that link between beauty and consciousness is part of what the brand puts inside the bottle.

There's a story the brand tells that says a lot about what it sets off. One client had been dealing with hurt, unhappy skin for a while, and with the fear that it wasn't going to get better; she was about to get married, and that worry weighed more than it showed. They met when Norma stopped by her store and left her a few samples. She kept them in a drawer for nearly two weeks, not quite ready to get her hopes up again, until one day she decided to give them a chance. She says that before long her skin changed enough that she became a Skin & Sky client for good; today that store is also one of the brand's points of sale.

Skin & Sky isn't for everyone, and the brand knows it. It connects with the person already paying attention to what's good for her what she eats, how she moves, what she puts on her skin and who can tell a product formulated with real ingredients from one that only looks the part. For that person, this is less a shelf of products and more an invitation to care for your skin the way you'd care for the whole of yourself. That's where it finds its place inside The Ėditure: a small brand, made with intention, that would rather let the skin speak for it.
