About Demarson

DEMARSON is contemporary jewelry made in New York: statement pieces, strong and polished, designed to have presence without the weight. Marcela Ponce and Jason Crantz founded it in 2017, and they’ve designed it together ever since. A lot of the pieces start as a conversation between the two of them a shape, a curve, a scale, the question of how it actually feels once it’s on  and you can tell. There’s something worked-out and resolved about everything they put out.

The thing about DEMARSON is that they turned down both of the easy options. Not jewelry so delicate and generic it basically disappears, and not the kind of statement piece that has to be heavy, awkward or over-the-top just to get noticed. Marcela and Jason wanted both at once: volume and character in something that genuinely works on an ordinary day. That doesn’t get in the way, that sits well, that’s finished properly. The detail that defines all of it is proportion  a millimeter changes how an earring falls, how a cuff sits, whether a piece reads as strong or just clunky  and that’s exactly where the care goes.

On, a DEMARSON piece does something pretty specific: it changes your posture. It catches light, it has volume, and suddenly a simple look feels intentional. An earring transforms a white shirt; a necklace makes something basic stop looking basic. It works in those moments when you want to look good without it showing how much effort went in. You got dressed fast, white shirt and black trousers, something feels missing, you put the piece on, and in the mirror the look is just there. You didn’t need to change everything  that was the only thing missing.

The brand’s whole world is very New York: the architecture, the metal, the pace of the city, women walking with purpose. There’s some eighties and nineties power dressing in there too  strong silhouettes, blazers, a femininity that doesn’t ask permission  and an almost architectural logic to the curves, the structure and the volume of each piece. Which is why it connects with a woman who has a real life: she works, travels, goes out, has a family and chaotic days too, and she cares about looking good but doesn’t want to overthink it. It isn’t for someone after something invisible or disposable. It’s for someone who wants a piece to have design, intention and presence.

DEMARSON didn’t come out of a formula. It came out of that creative conversation between two people who see jewelry as more than an accessory: one piece can change the whole energy of a look. And that’s the idea you’re left with  you don’t have to change your style or start from scratch, you just transform what you already have, so an outfit you’ve worn a hundred times suddenly feels deliberate and complete.
