Roberta Lobeira sold her first painting when she was eleven. Her mother ran a flower shop out of their home, and every time someone came by to look at flowers, Roberta would find a way to have them take home a portrait as well—of her children, her dogs, whatever. It’s not a calling she discovered as an adult. She grew up painting
